KOREAN CATHOLIC COMMUNITY CELEBRATES DAY OF MARTRYS
Our sister community the Mount Waverley Korean Catholic Community this weekend celebrates their ‘parish day in the month of the Korean Martyrs. The Choir will be performing a special presentation and members of the South Yarra Parish Council have been invited to attend the Mass and refreshments to follow.

SEPTEMBER PARISH COUNCIL REPORT
The Parish Council met for its monthly meeting last Wednesday evening. In attendance was Nicole Ng representing the ‘Ignite the Light’ ministry to young adults who briefed the council on their activities. Ideas for the forthcoming Holy Year and Augustinian celebrations in 2026 were shared. Opportunities to deepen our relationship with the Korean Ministry at Mount Waverley was also shared. Means of better welcoming new parishioners and visitors were also discussed.

The Parish of South Yarra is committed to the care, wellbeing and protection of children, young people and people at risk in our community. Mindful of the theme for National Child Protection Week, may we work to create safe spaces where we can have meaningful conversations with children and adults at risk about their safety.
SAINT AUGUSTINE’S DAY CELEBRATIONS
The annual commemoration of St Augustine and Monica’s Day comes around this weekend. We also have a luncheon after the 10.30am mass and conduct our annual Augustinian Seminary Appeal. You may use the envelopes provided or the QR CODE to make donations.

Brochures outlining the Archbishop’s Campaign are available in the foyer this weekend. Tax-deductible donations go to the Archbishop’s Charitable Fund which supports a variety Catholic community agencies and service organisations.
