PREPARATION
For the Baptism of infants we require Baptism preparation for first-time parents, parents not known or new to the Parish, and parents of further children if the last Baptism took place more than 5 years ago.
For the Baptism of older children a modified form of the RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation of Children) is used, according to age.
Adults for Baptism are expected to participate in the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) unless circumstances demand otherwise.
PRESENTATION
Baptisms are not only a family event but also a church community celebration. At our churches we have the tradition to present and welcome the child and the family at one of our Sunday Masses a week of two before the christening. To arrange a time and church for your child’s presentation before baptism please discuss this with the parish office when you make your baptism plans.
BOOKINGS
Bookings may be made by contacting the Parish Office. Except in the case of hardship, a donation to assist our parish in its mission would be appreciated. Download booking form here.
Usually Baptisms are held Sunday at 12.00 noon at St. Joseph’s or at 10.30am at St. Thomas Aquinas. Other times may be negotiated.
