HIGHLIGHTS OF AUTUMN EDITION!

INSTALLATION OF FR LUCA PARK AS PASTOR

On Sunday 26th February at the 10.30am Mass at St Joseph’s Fr Luca was installed as the new parish priest of South Yarra. Fr Luca has now been in Australia the past six years and stationed in Melbourne for the last four years. We congratulate him on his appointment and pray for his ministry in the time ahead.

GROWTH OF THE MELBOURNE KOREAN CATHOLIC COMMUNITY MINISTRY

Fr Matteo Cho OSA has now been in Melbourne as chaplain to the Mount Waverley Korean Catholic Community and reports that numbers attending regularly have returned to near pre-pandemic levels. He has also begun a regular monthly Mass at Caroline Springs for the large Korean community on the western side of the city.

There are also articles on parishioners Sonia Guzman and Lawrence Atley, as well as a feature of Fr James Kenny (1881-1919) who was probably the first Australian-born priest in the parish.
