MISSION RENEWAL SOUTHERN REGION GATHERING AUG 27TH

We were represented at the Southern Region Gathering of the “Take the Way of the Gospel” process held on August 27th at the Malvern Valley Golf Club. The meeting of about 30 to 40 people was addressed by Bishop Tony Ireland, Fr Tony Kerin (new vicar general), and Jacquie Giuliano from the Proclaim Team.

The information shared was really an update on the overall progress of the Parish Mission Renewal process. The main focus of the meeting was a presentation using the updated Take the Way of the Gospel framework resource guide online:

https://staging-mission.melbournecatholic.org/

They emphasised that each situation is different and need to find their own path.  One speaker highlighted what they had been doing in their parish at Mordialloc and Aspendale, but there was not much reference to collaboration beyond current parishes or partnered parishes.  After the presentation there was an opportunity for sharing at tables.

PPC PASTORAL PLAN SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING

The parish Council sub-committee for the Parish Pastoral Plan met during the week and considered the path forward to add more detail to concrete actions to the goals and means of implementing the plan. It was also agreed to prepare a simplified folding brochure for parishioners to see the plan in overview. Hopefully this will be prepared in time for Advent and the beginning of the Holy Year.
